New government of Kyrgyzstan led by Prime Minister Nikolai Tanaev was sworn in at the joint session of the two parliamentary chambers in Bishkek on 17 October. They vowed fidelity before the president and the nation. The previous government resigned last May after the Aksy killings, happened last March. Tanaev was the first vice prime minister in the previous government. There are now three vice prime ministers, 12 ministries, and several state committees and agencies in the cabinet.
