BISHKEK CITY INDUSTRIES GROW.


Mayor of Bishkek Medetbek Kerimkulov announced in Bishkek on 13 November that industrial output of the city was 7,000 million soms (about $152 million) in the first 10 months of the year and its is more than in the same period of the last year by 2.6 percent. According to Kerimkulov, foreign trade turnout of the city increased by 56 percent and 40-million-dollar investment was drawn to the city, included $23 million from abroad. The mayor added that 24,870 new jobs were created in the city in January-October and its annual industry output would be about 8,800 million soms in 2002.
