BISHKEK. UNDP and Soros Kyrgyzstan Foundation are planning to allocate about 120,000 US$ for organizational procedures of the Kyrgyz Ombudsman office. As Ombudsman Tursunbai Bakir-uulu put it today, about 60,000 US$ was allocated recently by the OSCE, spent for buying computers and other office materials. However, the Kyrgyz government did not give any premises for the Ombudsman office yet. On January 10, 2003, the Legislative Assembly (lower chamber) of the Parliament is to elect a deputy Ombudsman.
