Prague. A new documentary entitled 'Chto Novovo (What's New?): An Elegy for the Union' was planned to be screened on Friday (January 10) at the Harvard University, USA. According to George FitzHerbert, director of the Inner Asian and Altaic Studies, the screening of the 53 minutes long film is part of the Harvard VES documentary film class screenings. The film is a portrait of transition in the former Soviet Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan). It illustrates the traditional pastoral life of the Kyrgyz, while addressing issues of industrial depression, isolation, and out-migration of the Russian population since the Soviet collapse.
