BISHKEK. A prominent Kyrgyz poet, prose writer and publicist, Kambaraly Bobulov (15.05.1936 – 24.01.2003) died on Saturday after fighting long-term illness. His books of verses, such as ‘Southern Girl’, ‘Island Of Love’ and others made his name among the Kyrgyz writers. He was one of the active lawmakers during the first years of the Kyrgyz post-soviet independence, who were championing the Kyrgyz language status as a real state language’s one in different areas of public life. He was the president of the ‘Ene Til’ (‘Mother Tongue) Society.
