CIS Leaders Support Kyrgyz Constitutional Reforms

BISHKEK. Leaders and representatives of the CIS member-countries participating at the informal Kyiv summit, made a statement supporting the Kyrgyz Government's decision to hold a referendum. The Kyrgyz Government's press service told journalists today that the statement signatories stressed that the ongoing constitutional reforms in Kyrgyzstan will create a basis for continuation of the democratic processes in the country.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev at the summit, while President Akayev was busy with the referendum campaign in the country.
