BISHKEK. Early Monday morning, a representative of the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society (Kyrgyzstan), Januzak Abdrasulov, was beaten by unknown people while he was returning home from monitoring the referendum in the Sokuluk district in the western outskirts of Bishkek. Observers listed many shortcomings during the plebiscite in the district.
The people took away about 17 reports on the shortcomings during the plebiscite. The leadership of the Coalition said it will appeal to law-enforcement bodies to investigate the beating.
