BISHKEK. The Kyrgyz Minister of Ecology and Emergency Situations, Satybaldy Chyrmashev is participating at the 22nd session of the Governing Council of United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi. It is expected that Chyrmashev will meet with the UNEP Executive-Director Klaus Toepfer to discuss cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN program in the field of ecological protection. The Minister will propose that the UN program open an office in Bishkek to strengthen their cooperation. The UNEP session will end on Friday, February 7.
