BISHKEK. A new party, entitled 'Jangy Konushchular' (The New Developers) began its activity in protection of the interests of the new developers in the outskirts of the capital city Bishkek. A leader of the party, Abysh Nurgaziev told RFE/RL today that the party was officially registered by the Justice Ministry on January 13, 2003. The organization existed as a NGO since 1989, and it was re-established as a political party recently. Nurgaziev said that there are about 6,000 members of the party.
According to an unofficial data, more than 100,000 residents of Bishkek live in the capital's outskirts and most of them are the new developers whose social needs have not been fully addressed by the Kyrgyz Government yet.
