BISHKEK. Dozens of representatives from several human rights organizations and NGOs organized a picket in front of the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek. Among them were members of the Kyrgyzstan Human Rights Movement. A delegation of the picketers met with a representative of the U.S. Embassy and handed over their statement to the embassy. The statement demands to stop the war in Iraq.
The "Vecherniy Bishkek" newspaper today sent to the United Nations about 14,825 coupons from the newspaper with words: "This is our resolution: We are against the war". The package includes the anti-war paintings of the Kyrgyz children and letters of the country's citizens.
