BISHKEK. An opposition bloc, "The Movement For Resignation Of President Akayev And For Reforms In the People's Interests", will send its activists to different regions of Kyrgyzstan starting from April 1, to inform the population of the country on the forthcoming second session of the Third Congress (Kurultai) of the Kyrgyzstan People. The congress unites several opposition political parties, NGOs and some independent politicians.
Azimbek Beknazarov, lawmaker and leader of the movement, told RFE/RL today that the bloc is considering holding a round table discussion with participation of both officials and opposition in April. Its main topic will be situation in the country after the constitutional referendum held on February 2, this year.
The second session of the Kurultai is to be held in the Myrzake village of the Uzgen district in the Southern Kyrgyzstan's region of Osh in July, this year.
