BISHKEK. A NATO delegation led by Turkish General Oktar Atman today started its two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan. The delegation is discussing with Kyrgyz counterparts issues related to the bilateral cooperation between NATO and Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the program "Partnership for Peace". Kyrgyz Defense Minister, Esen Topoyev, received the delegation today. Atman offered NATO's help in training Kyrgyzstan's army and said military exercises between the Kyrgyz army and NATO forces would be held this year sometime in the summer or fall.
Kyrgyzstan is a signatory to the program since June 1994.
