Bishkek. The Legislative Assembly (lower chamber) of the Kyrgyz parliament today adopted a law "On the Osh City Status". The new law allows to the city, which has the status of the second capital city in accordance with the presidential decree adopted in 2000, to allocate about 40 percent of the local taxes to its municipal budget. The office of the Osh mayor will be under the direct control of the prime minister, bypassing the Osh region authorities.
