The Muftiyat, Muslim Board, of Kyrgyzstan held in Bishkek on 12 November a conference devoted to the Holy Month of Ramadan, which began in Kyrgyzstan on 6 November. It was decided at the conference that any new mosques in the country must be constructed after a Muftiyat's approval only. Text of the decision was handed to the State Commission on Architecture and Construction the same day. About 2,000 mosques have been constructed in Kyrgyzstan since 1991 and about 900 of them only were registered officially.
