BISHKEK. The Ukrainian President, Leonid Kuchma, is to pay a one-day visit to Kyrgyzstan on April 10, this year. Kuchma will meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Askar Akayev, to discuss problems related to an establishment of a free trade zone in the CIS countries. Then Kuchma will meet with Kyrgyz prime minister, Nikolai Tanayev to discuss bilateral economic cooperation issues, including the Ukrainian debt to Kyrgyzstan from 1991-1992.
Some Kyrgyz experts are cynical about Kyrgyzstan's participation in the free trade zone because it would be contradicted with Kyrgyzstan's commitments as a member of the World Trade Organization.
