BISHKEK, April 20. A joint control group of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) started its 8th session in Bishkek today. The group’s three-day session is discussing problems of implementation of the agreement “On strengthening the mutual military trust in the border areas” signed in Shanghai in 1996, and the agreement “On reducing the military forces in the border areas” signed in Moscow in 1997. Also, the group is to adopt an annual plan for the joint control of the military forces in the border areas of the SCO member-states. The SCO consists of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
