BISHKEK. President Askar Akayev sent congratulations to the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan in connection with Orozo ayt or "Eid-e Fitr" (the fast breaking feast). in Kyrgyzstan, Dec. 6 is an official holiday marking the end of a month-long Ramadan fasting.
Akayev called on the Muslims to be tolerant and wished the fulfillment of all Ramadan wishes.
According to the office of the Islamic Directorate, tomorrow a mass prayer will be held at the Ala-Too square of Bishkek. Government officials and representatives of foreign embassies in Kyrgyzstan are expected to attend.
