The Headquarters of the Opposition parties and NGOs that was set up on Friday to oppose the draft version of the Constitution is organizing a nation-wide action to propagate their view of the draft. The Chief of the Headquarters, a lawmaker and leader of the ‘Atameken’ (Motherland) party, Omurbek Tekebaev told RFE/RL today that representatives of the headquarters will organize monitoring in every region. They will advise local residents to boycott the referendum, and in case they want to participate in it, then to vote against the Government-backed draft. Eleven political parties and several NGOs, as well as some deputies joined the Headquarters on January 17.
