BISHKEK/OSH. Preliminary results of yesterday's parliamentary election at the No 35 'Osh-3000' constituency show that Mukhtar Orozbekov, vice rector of the Osh state university, was elected as a deputy of the Legislative assembly (lower chamber) of the Kyrgyz Parliament. About 64 percent of eligible voters went to the poll. Most of them backed Orozbekov. His contender, an employee of the Transportation and communications ministry, Mamasadyk Bakirov, received less votes at the run-offs.
