Top Kyrgyz Official Criticizes Opposition Members For Being Biased During the European Parliament Discussion

BISHKEK. Kyrgyz first deputy prime minister, Kurmanbek Osmonov today gave a press conference devoted to the official delegation's visit to Strasbourg, France, where the European Parliament held a hearing on February 12 on the political situation in Kyrgyzstan. According to Osmonov, Kyrgyz participants included him, State Secretary Osmonakun Ibraimov, lawmaker Azimbek Beknazarov, human rights activist Ramazan Dyryldaev and a politician, Giyaz Tokombayev. Osmonov said the European Parliament's committee was satisfied with the official information by the Kyrgyz government, even though the opposition members tried to slander in a baseless way.
Ramazan Dyryldaev told RFE/RL on February 13 that the European Parliament might adopt a tough decision over Kyrgyzstan in April of this year, if the country's government won't change its human rights stance.
