BISHKEK. Kyrgyzstanis today celebrated the 8th of March, the International Women’s Day. In the framework of the officially recognized celebration, the UN Bishkek Office launched a national applied art exhibition in the capital. The exhibited artifacts made by the Kyrgyz women include things used for nomad life in the past and modern urban and village communities in the country. Bishkek Mayor, Medetbek Kerimkulov, the chairperson of the Constitutional court, Cholpon Bayekova, Minister of Social Protection, Roza Aknazarova, and other officials attended the opening ceremony.
There were some other meetings, concerts and other cultural programs devoted to the Women’s Day, in all the regions of the country.
