Mothers of Aksy Victims Consider To Come To Bishkek

BISHKEK. Several members of the Society of Mothers, an organization which united mothers and sisters of the five protesters shot dead by police last year, are planning to arrive in Bishkek in order to hold a picket in front of Bishkek's White House (the government building) demanding to bring to justice those officials allegedly responsible for the shooting. A leader of the Kyrgyz Communists, Professor Klara Ajybekova, a member of the opposition "Arnamys" (Dignity) Party, Bodosh Mamyrov, and a deputy leader of the "Erkindik" (Freedom) Party, Aziza Abdrasulova, told journalists today in Bishkek, that they met with the members of the Society of Mothers in the Aksy district on March 17, this year, during the commemoration meeting, devoted to the five protesters killed by police during their anti-governmental gathering on March 17-18, 2002.
